Its collection consists of more than 15,000 works of art, featuring North Carolina’s premier collections of Asian art and works of art on paper (drawings, prints, and photographs), plus significant collections of European masterworks, twentieth-century and contemporary art, African art, and North Carolina pottery.
Every second Friday of the month, the Museum is open to visitors until 9pm to host Art After Dark in conjunction with the 2nd Friday Chapel Hill/Carrboro Art Walk.
The Ackland admission is free to visitors and includes a variety of events related to exhibition, community and University topics.
